Application of diode rectifier

The crystal diode is actually composed of a P-N junction, which has a single conductivity and can change alternating current into direct current, which is called rectification.

The so-called unidirectional conductivity is that the crystal diode is conductive under the forward voltage, while the diode is not conductive under the reverse voltage. There are many kinds of rectifier circuits, including half wave rectifier circuit, bridge full wave circuit, etc.

Half wave rectifier circuit

It is a rectification method to remove half cycle and lower half cycle. It is not difficult to see that half wave full wave can be said to "sacrifice" half of the AC in exchange for the rectification effect, and the current utilization rate is very low (the calculation shows that the average value of half wave voltage obtained by rectification in the whole cycle, that is, the DC voltage Ud on the load RL=0.45e2). Therefore, it is commonly used in high voltage and low current situations, but rarely used in general radio devices.

Full wave rectifier circuit

Full wave rectifier circuit refers to a circuit that can convert AC to current in a single direction. It is formed by merging at least two rectifiers, one for the positive direction and the other for the negative direction.
