This round of financing will be used to further strengthen the R&D and manufacturing capacity of key links in the silicon carbide industry chain, improve the capacity scale, support the large-scale application of silicon carbide products in new energy vehicles, photovoltaic energy storage and other markets, and comprehensively enhance the core competitiveness of basic semiconductors in the silicon carbide power semiconductor industry.

Basic Semiconductor will complete C1 round of financing in September 2021, C2 round of financing in June 2022, and C3 round of financing in July 2022.

It is pointed out that Basic Semiconductor was founded in 2016, specializing in the R&D and industrialization of silicon carbide power devices. The company has mastered the leading silicon carbide core technology, and researched and developed key links in the industrial chain covering silicon carbide power semiconductors such as material preparation, chip design, packaging test, drive application, etc. Its core products include silicon carbide diodes and MOSFET chips, automotive silicon carbide power modules, silicon carbide drive chips, etc., which are used in photovoltaic energy storage, electric vehicles, rail transit, industrial control, smart grid and other fields.
